LA Detailing

LA Detailing cleans cars in Paracin, a town in central Serbia where glass has been made since 1907. The work is deep cleaning of interiors and engine bays, exteriors, and the restoring of clouded headlights. The identity keeps the black and yellow the account already had, and gives them a form.

The mark is the letter A without its crossbar, standing on a line, with its reflection below. Together they make a rhombus, cut like glass. The line is the surface of the car: above it the letter, below it what the paint gives back.

It is also the simplest test of the work. When the reflection reads whole and sharp, the car is done.

The name is drawn, not typed: wide capitals in the proportions of lettering on a car, the A without a crossbar as in the mark. The point between the two words is a small rhombus, a reflection of its own.

Five colours named after the work, in Serbian: Lak, the black of polished paint; Guma, rubber; Far, the yellow of a lit headlight, used only on dark; Pena, the foam; Hrom, chrome.
